Your coffee maker may be the first appliance you reach for in the morning and the last one you remember to clean. The outside gets a quick wipe, the mug goes in the sink, and the parts you cannot see carry on with yesterday's moisture and coffee residue.
That does not mean your next cup is a cause for panic. It does mean the machine deserves a place in your regular kitchen-cleaning routine.
The importance of tidying your coffee machine

Coffee makers do more than move hot water through grounds. Depending on the model, they also have reservoirs, trays, removable parts, and damp corners where residue can collect.
A machine can look tidy on the counter while still needing attention inside. Empty used grounds promptly, wash removable parts as the instructions recommend, and allow cleaned components to dry. Descaling is another job again: it deals with mineral deposits and should be done using the method approved for your machine. One quick rinse does not necessarily take care of every part.
